Star Evolution an the Big Bang At the Beginning

In the first chaper you will find the facts of star evolution.

Astronomy and Philosophy

Astronomy and philosophy are the same side of the medal. People have always been thinking about the stars and where they come from. The sky above them flowed into their religious thoughts. The Moon  and the Stars helped the early farmers to know when to bring the seeds into the soil.

A book about the History of Astronomy

How did ships make their way across the ocean in former times? How did the discoveries of the modern times change education? The  calendar reform was made in 1582.  Astronomy of the late Middle Ages changed and lead to the modern era. At the time of Copernicus, a new way of thinking appears in contrast to scholasticism. The modern astronomer Johannes Kepler was looking for a new job during his lifetime  and had to rescue his mother Katharina Kepler to be burned at the stake in a  whitch trial. Although Kepler was very modern in his thinking, he was cought in his esoteric thinking. In his Mysterium Cosmographicum he wrote about the relations of the spheres, whose distances are defined by the five Platonic solids.  His life is overshadowed by the Counter-Reformation.

You can learn something about the astronomical research of the court of Wilhelm IV in Hessen-Kassel, which had contact to Tycho Brahe. Learn something about the history of optics, astronomical gauges.

A longer chapter deals with esotericism, starting with  Hermes Trismegistos and goes on what music has to do with the stars.

Even the father of Galileo dealt with the numerology of music. His son, Galileo Galilei, was aquaint with the clergy. But he has to swear that his theory was not true.  Isaac Newton still dealt with alchemy.

How was the Problem to find the Longituge at Sea solved

Read about the moon distances. Harrison built his famous clock that kept the time very precise. The German Tobias Mayer also worked at this problem to find the longitude.  Tobias Mayer was born in Marbach in the South of Germany. His widow got a part of the prize that could be won to solve the problem of the moon distances. The bigger part  was given to Harrison.

Historical Astronomical Instruments

In the next chapters I write more about astronomical instruments used for measurements in former times, such as the astrolabe and the nocturnal. Find inclosed  paintings made by myself.

The book is written in German.

Book Astronomie in der Stadt

ISBN-13: 9783830118497

BoD 17.06.2020

The Book "Astronomie in der Stadt" explains what you can see at the night sky in a city.  But my book deals with star evoloution and  how to find exoplanets. It goes on with  star constellations we use in the West.  You will find aspects of the live of Kepler, Newton an other scientists. In the book there star maps painted myself. I explain the coordinate  systems used in astronomy.  Carthography is also taught. I write about  the stereographical projection used for painting maps. This method ist also used to engrave the meridians onto the old astronomical instruments, like the astrolabe, which I write about. I  go on   with the obserarion of the sun starting in the 19th century, the beginning of spectroscopy in the 19th century, the naming of stars, optics and write about  astrophotography. The Book is written in German.

My books also deal wiht cartography. You don't get  it online. If you find page that what you down load my book so think about, that these people are not entitled to do so.
